LocalAdventures.com is a simple straight-forward website dedicated to encouraging local San Diego Residents to spend time exploring the fun and unusual adventures found right here in San Diego County. Whether you have an hour or a long weekend, San Diego offers as much adventure as one could find anywhere in the world.

LocalAdventures.com is not the place to find things that appear in every travel book and on the billboards that line the freeways. We specialize in unusual adventures that could take a little digging to uncover; the hidden gems around San Diego. No matter how long you have lived in San Diego, there are certainly new and surprising adventures to be found among our listings. Additional unusual adventures will be added regularly as they come to our attention.

In addition to listing local adventures, we work with the adventure operators to develop special programs that encourage local residents to spend more time vacationing at home. Adventure operators that participate in these programs are identified in the listings.

LocalAdventures.com is not supported by commercial advertising. We believe that the Internet, like our public lands, should retain "open space" that is available to the public free of charge and free of obtrusive advertising. We include or exclude adventure listings based on the criteria listed under "Submit," and on our personal preferences.

We visit and review a few of the local adventures each month. The purpose of the review is not to assess the quality of the attraction. When we review an adventure, we dedicate a special page to that site providing more detail about the adventure and exposing interesting "behind the scenes" information that can make your visit more interesting. If we find an adventure that is of such poor quality that it is not, in our opinion, worth visiting, the site will be dropped from the listings.

We are asked from time to time if we plan to expand LocalAdventures.com to cover other counties. At the present time, we are working to perfect this site dedicated to San Diego County. If in the future, we choose to expand into other counties, we will post information about our expansion plans.
