Bike Penasquitos Canyon - Take your mountain bike and enjoy about fifteen miles of dirt road through Penasquitos Canyon. The road is hilly in places but fine for beginners. You will share the path with horses, hikers and other bikes.

Get More Involved in Mountain Biking - The San Diego Mountain Biking Association sponsors biking events, supports trail maintenance, and provides educational programs about mountain biking. This is a good place to check legal access to trails.

For Serious Workouts and Racing - The San Diego Bicycle club is devoted to serious racing. Join their club and weekend workouts.

For Serious and Beginning Masters-Age Cyclists - San Diego boasts the best masters-age (that's over age 30 here) bicycling club in the nation. Join and check out their events calendar. Beginners are welcome on many events.

Tandem Bicycling - The San Diego Tandem Club sponsore social-paced or more rigorous rides most weeks. Join them for double the fun.

Sierra Club Cycling - Every month the Sierra Club sponsors about 20 rides. Newcomers are welcome; check the "overview" section for information.

Newcomers Are Welcome to this Bicycle Club - Swami's Athletic Club is a bicucle club that sponsors weekend rides for all manner of people (large and small). Some rides are tougher than others - check the ride maps and meeting places.

Ride the Elfin Forest - The Elfin Forest Recreational Reserve has 17 miles of trails. This is some of the best single track biking in San Diego.

Take a Leisurely Ride at Lake Poway - This 3-mile loop, mostly on fireroads, is an easy but scenic ride. Great for an afterwork adventure.

An Old Jeep Road Near El Capitan Reservior - This old jeep trail is no longer accessable to 4WD vehicles. The trail is about half singletrack and lies mostly on forest service land.
